IAML-DL: Tutorials

Although tutorials themselves do not count towards your grade, you will find that you understand the material much better, and are better prepared for the exam if you engage with the tutorial sessions.

Tutorials live sessions in take place in weeks 3, 5, 7, and 9.  The times for tutorial live sessions will be shown on the Live Session Schedule on Learn, and this page also describes how to access the live sessions in Class Collaborate.  A suggested schedule for working on the tutorials should be, for example for the first tutorial in Week 3:

• Week 1/2 - work on the tutorial problems
• Week 2 - ask any questions in the Piazza Forum Q&A in the appropriate folder (tag) - and answer any other student questions you can
• Week 3 - bring your solutions to the Class Collaborate session for the tutorial day/time you have chosen.
• Week 4 - review the tutorial solutions sheet which will have been released at the end of Week 3.

It is your responsibility to work through the tutorial problem sheets in advance of each session. During the session, the tutor will ask you to share your full or partial solution for a given question and then they will help you work through any problems.  It is a good idea to upload your solutions to Class Collaborate, even if partial, so that you can share them with the group and the tutor can guide you through problems.  Do not expect to be just given the answer during the session - come prepared in order to get the most out of them. The full solution sheets will be provided the week after each Live tutorial session.
