INF1B: Week 11: Version Control
Lecture 17: Version Control
- Slides: Lecture 17 Slides
1) Read the slides and the supplements: Version Control.pdf and Basic Git Commands.pdf
2) Take a look at https://www.katacoda.com/courses/git and https://learngitbranching.js.org for useful resources to help develop your Git skills
3) Work through the Inf1B version control tutorial (in next week's materials). This is best done in groups, so do it with a couple of friends if you can, but it would still be useful to do on your own.
Tutorial: Code Review
In this tutorial, you will review feedback and code quality from Assignment 3 Part 1 in preparation for Part 2.

Bonus Tutorial: Version Control (self-study)
This is a bonus tutorial which you can try in your own free time (it will not be covered in class) to try your hands on practical image recognition in cute videos and using version control in your project.
Instructions and materials: (the latter is hosted on OneDrive because the file exceeds OpenCourse file size limits)
An example solution: (but there is more than one way to do it).
Labs
No new exercises this week, you can use this time to catch up on previous weeks' labs or try some of the advanced ones. You can go along to your lab session if you'd like any help - demonstrators will be there as usual.
What should I be doing with the assignment?
You should spend the majority of your Inf1B time focussing on Assessment 2, which is due at the end of this week. You should also make sure you are up to date on lectures and tutorials, as any / all of these may be useful for Assignment 3, as well as attending the lecture on Monday.
