INF2-SEPP: Tutorials
What are tutorials for?
Tutorials will propose a set of tasks each, on different topics:
- Week 2 (ProP): Writing a good argumentative essay
- Week 3 (SE): Requirements engineering (including use case diagrams)
- Week 5 (SE): Design (class and sequence diagrams with discussion of design principles)
- Week 6 (SE): Design Patterns
- Week 8 (SE): Good code, code smells, refactoring
- Week 10 (SE): Testing and test coverage
All of these tasks are chosen to prepare you for the more complex tasks in your coursework, thus attending the tutorials is important for learning what is expected of you in the coursework. In particular, please note that the ProP part of the course only has one tutorial (Week 2), therefore it is even more critical that you attend it.
Preparing your own solutions to the tasks (as much as you can) in advance of each tutorial, and bringing them for discussion together with any questions at the tutorial, will help you get the most clarification about how theory can be applied in practice. Although tutorials last 1.5 hours each, the amount of tasks will mean that they can only be all discussed if you and your peers come prepared.
Attendance to tutorials will be monitored and reported to the ITO, as required by the school.
