Weeks 11+: Exam revision

Welcome to Week 11! There are no more scheduled course activities until the exam on 20 December, but we'll use this page to provide useful information.

Reminders and announcements

• Solutions to the Week 10 tutorial are now available.
  • Also, we would like to know whether it would be better to schedule the exam practice tutorial next year in Week 11, or to keep it in Week 10 like this year. Please let us know what you think, by answering that single question on this form by Fri 6 Dec (anonymously; and you can only submit the form once).
• Exam revision support. We do not plan to hold any extra revision lectures during Revision Week, because we have already provided a lot of exam preparation throughout the semester (e.g., 1/2 lecture in Week 6, discussing questions from past papers, etc). Instead, we have designed several documents that will help you prepare for the ANLP final exam.
  • Exam revision guide (finalized version with a new section about the exam booklet format)
  • Examinable topics document (updated 2/12 to include FSAs, FSTs, Regexes)
  • Practice exam.
    • We strongly recommend using this as a timed practice, only after reading through the two documents above and doing most of your revision.
    • We will not post solutions to these questions. If you have a question about your solution, please post on Piazza. We can provide feedback (within reason).
  • Piazza: We'll continue monitoring Piazza in the run-up to the exam, but: 
    • We will not answer questions posted after 18 Dec. This is to encourage you to start revision early, to discourage a flood of last-minute questions, and so we can catch up on anything posted earlier. Of course you're still welcome to post, in case your classmates can answer.
  • TA help hours: 
    • There will be no live TA hours in Wk 11 or Wk 12. Please use Piazza during this time.
    • We have scheduled TA hours between 9-20 Dec; times/places are shown below:
