Week 1: Introduction and Accessibility
Welcome to the first week of the course! We hope you are settling (back) in well!
We'll start off the week with introducing the logistics of the course and the concept of flipped classroom. We then cover the challenged of Human Computer Interaction (HCI) and why it is important to consider users in the first place when designing a system. Accessibility and how it affects different people is at the core of HCI.
Please watch the introduction video HCI: Course Introduction using the link or the player below.
As we aim to keep the needed to watch the required videos to a minimum, all videos are modular and kept brief. On average, you are not required to spent more than an hour on the videos.
HCI is a successful long-running course, you will thus meet a couple of different faces as you progress through the course. We are constantly reviewing course materials and update where necessary, but are proud to retain a mix of videos and the legacy of brilliant lecturers. In addition to Tara and Nicole, you will meet Dr Kami Vaniea, Prof John Vines and Dr Aurora Constantin.
